Here at Susan's World of Yoga I run a number of specialist workshops in the Woking area in Surrey. These vary from one-hour sessions to 3 hour intensives. Please see below for details of forthcoming special classes and workshops.


Monthly Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra Class

In this monthly class in Woking, we aim to explore

the active practice of relaxation through yoga and yoga nidra.


Each class will include a combination of gentle yoga postures (asanas) and breathwork (pranayama). This will help to trigger your parasympathetic nervous system, which allows your body to relax, heal and find wellness. This is not a fast paced and flowing class but a reflective practice with a focus on relaxing and rejuvenating the body and mind.


Each class will also contain a Yoga Nidra (a guided relaxation / yogic sleep). Yoga nidra is among one of the deepest possible states of relaxation while still maintaining full consciousness. Think of it like a guided meditation. Yoga nidra can be used therapeutically for healing, as well as to enhance creativity and productivity and to improve sleep and general health.


Benefits of this monthly class include:

  • reduction of the effects of stress-based diseases

  • balances hormones and nervous system

  • boosts the immune system

  • calms the mind

  • alleviates depression

  • improves sleep and can help overcome insomnia


Expect to leave this class feeling rejuvenated, and deeply relaxed. The class runs from 7-8pm.

This class is open to all levels and is highly beneficial if you are struggling with stress or insomnia.

Destress & Relax Workshop: How to Find Stillness:

Learning to relax and find stillness can be a challenge in our busy world today. In this workshop Susan will explore the more relaxed and restorative side of yoga. She will explore gentle stretches and breathwork (pranayama) as well as guided relaxation (yoga nidra). At the end of the session you will feel a little more relaxed and armed with some tools to take away with you to use in your daily life. 

This is suitable for all levels, even beginners to yoga as the focus is on relaxation and finding stillness. This is especially good for anyone suffering from stress or anxiety.

Please bring a bottle of water, a blanket and a cushion. Mats available to borrow if you email in advance. There will be a short break in the middle for healthy snacks and drinks.
