Due to the success of the First Friday 'Relaxed Yoga and Yoga Nidra' sessions, I have now booked more dates in for early 2018.
These special classes will continue to be on the first Friday of the month at 7-8pm, and give you this wonderful opportunity to relax, unwind and recharge the batteries ready for your weekend!
There will however be a new venue in 2018 - the Lye Hall at St Johns Memorial Hall in Woking. This is a lovely little hall with air conditioning /heating and plenty of parking in the car park opposite.
These classes are such a great way to unwind and find stillness - the opposite to most of our busy lives. Just bring a blanket and your yoga mat and let me guide you gently into deep relaxation....

About these classes:
In this monthly special yoga class, we explore the active practice of relaxation through yoga and yoga nidra.
Each class will include a combination of gentle yoga postures (asanas) and breathwork (pranayama) as well as a long guided relaxation. This will help to trigger your parasympathetic nervous system, which allows your body to relax, heal and find wellness. This is not a fast paced and flowing class but a reflective practice with a focus on relaxing and rejuvenating the body and mind. The physical section of the class prepares the body ready for the deep guided relaxation.
Therefor the key part of the class will be a 15-25 minute Yoga Nidra (a guided relaxation / yogic sleep). Yoga Nidra is among one of the deepest possible states of relaxation while still maintaining full consciousness. Think of it like a guided meditation. Yoga Nidra can be used therapeutically for healing, as well as to enhance creativity and productivity and to improve sleep and general health.
Benefits of this monthly class include:
relief from chronic stress and fatigue
reduction of the effects of stress-based diseases
balances hormones and nervous system
boosts the immune system
calms the mind
improves sleep and can help overcome insomnia
Expect to leave this class feeling rejuvenated, and deeply relaxed. A recording of the guided relaxation will be made and emailed to each attendee. The class runs from 7-8pm.
This class is open to all levels and is highly beneficial if you are struggling with stress or insomnia.
